The Bulk-to-Farmer Tank Our Best-seller Durable, cost-effective and internationally accredited Forgeweld has been manufacturing Bulk to Farmer (BTF) Tanks for the agricultural, civil engineering and petrochemical industries since 1965. We owe much of our early success to this humble yet versatile external storage unit. To date, we have produced close on 400 000 Forgeweld BTF Tanks, making them our number one best-selling product. The durable, popular and cost-effective BTF Tank can be manufacured to store petroleum or chemical products according to customer requirements. Forgeweld BTF Tanks have a storage capacity of 2 200 litres and can be provided with access ladders, walkways, platforms, landings, safety rails, holding-down and lifting lugs etc., where needed. The external paint finish is completed to customer requirements. Forgeweld BTF Tanks comply with South African National Standard (SANS) 10131: 2004: Aboveground Storage Tanks for Petroleum Products and are made in accordance with our integrated quality control system as verified by ISO 9001:2000. Please note: According to SANS 10131: 2004, BTF tanks shall only be used to store class II and class III liquids. In urban environments, a maximum of two BTF tanks are allowed in any one location and in rural environments a maximum number of three BTF tanks are allowed in any one location. BTF Tanks installed in urban areas require bunding. BTF Tanks installed in rural areas, if deemed to be a sensitive area, also require bunding. For larger capacity requirements and for the storage of class I liquids, Forgeweld recommends our Standard Aboveground Storage Tank (SASTank). Thermally insulated tanks with secondary containment, such as Forgeweld's Fireguard™ AST, do not require bunding. We encourage all our customers to read the applicable codes - the protection of property, people and environment is everyone's responsibility. Copies are available from Standards South Africa or see www.stansa.co.za.
